I am very much sure that 1st Valley Bank is the bank that ushers my business to success. Mr. Nicasio M. Gillera, Microfinance loans borrower/beneficiary.

Mr. Gillera, or Nick as his drivers call him, who even in his later years of 57 years old, believes in the vision of 1st Valley Bank to be the leading provider of reliable, efficient and competitive banking services for countryside clientele. He is a resident of Purok 9, Brgy. Carmen, Ozamiz City and a trisikad operator since 1993. Out of the 48 tricycles in 1993, he experienced deep crisis in his life in 1999 and with only three (3) tricycles left in running condition. This stage in his life forced him to borrow from informal lenders and experienced even tight financial condition.

July of 2009 drastically changed his life when he met Rosque Fiel, Account Specialist of Ozamiz Branch 2-1st Valley Bank during the house to house visit for the promotion of the new branch. He had received one of the flyers being distributed by the employees and after that, he visited the bank and avail the “FAME Loan”, a Microfinance Loan Program of the bank. Clearly with the daily income of Php60/tricycle unit, his daily income translates to Php4, 800 daily or with a whooping amount of Php144, 000 per month.

Through hard work and dedication to his business and with the assistance of the Microfinance program of 1st Valley Bank, Mr. Gillera was able to acquire some properties: A 200 sq. m. residential lot at Brgy. Molicay, Ozamiz City, and a 1 has. Agri/Rice land at Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur. With his growing business, he is planning to venture an Aqua Culture business. With this, we’ll be having an Agri/Agra prospective borrower.
